THE FUTURE

“Tell Gamma what you remember, Jack,” Spectra encouraged him.
“I saw a little girl with an artificial arm, she told me her name was Spectra and that we were going to be good friends one day. She was jumping rope with two other little girls and saying some kind of nursery rhymes. I can’t remember them exactly, but one sounded like ‘Skin and fur, tongue and name, once you come here you’re never the same.’ Silly stuff like that.”
“Wow,” Mama Swish gasped.
“I tried to look that rhyme up on the internet but I couldn’t find it. It doesn’t exist. Maybe I just made it up in my own head.”
“Maybe it will mean something in the future,” Mama Swish suggested.

Everything has been leading up to this

Coming in 2026.
Founded on and continuing the Famous Oz Stories by L. Frank Baum, The Royal Historian of Oz. This novel is intended for all ages, with at least one black and white illustration per chapter.

If you haven’t read the previous Jack Magic books, no problem, you can jump right in, and we’ll try to catch you up with as little exposition as possible.
Six months after the events of “Other Knights,” Jack Magic has taken a leave of absence from the Paranorm Bureau. The Other Knights (Damocles, Too Far and Woolf) come to Richmond to give Jack the news that his nemesis Ananias Fike has been shot and mortally wounded by a magic bullet, betrayed by his followers in The Outcast, who have all vanished and gone into hiding. Fike is dying, and Jack reluctantly agrees to his request for a final visit. Fike offers Jack a deal, he will give him the location of the fugitive Outcast members and surrender to justice if Jack grants his final request. He wants to go home to die, and only Jack can take him there.
Jack immediately refuses, but then Fike has a surprise. Jack’s friend Bob Lopez is alive and being held prisoner somewhere on another world far away. Somewhere on Oz.
Now Jack, his assistant Alex and the Other Knights must break Fike out of prison and somehow, someway get him and themselves across time and space to rescue Bob. But can Jack trust Ananias Fike, the man who never lies? And what will they find when they get there?
Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as Jack and his friends encounter classic characters from the imagination of L. Frank Baum, along with strange new beings and old and deadly enemies. There will be twists and turns, transformations and surprises, and not one of them will ever be the same as the Jack Magic saga concludes.

“Gather your wits, summon your courage and hold onto your heart. It’s time to kick some Oz.”
